Sony A1 - The camera that almost has everything

Updated: Apr 17, 2021

The camera that seems to be the talk of 2021 is the Sony A1.

Sam Pilling from Sony took to The Photography Show to give people a first look at the brand new camera he describes as having "almost everything".

The new camera has 50 megapixels, 30 frames per second, autofocus and auto-exposure of 120 times per second, and a viewfinder refresh of 240 times a second for easy subject tracking.

It also has eye autofocus and 759 phase autofocus points, perfect for tracking your subject wherever they go.

"It shouldn't surprise me because I'm supposed to be Sony-biased but it is mind-blowing. I can't believe what it can do," Sam said.

Combining features of existing Sony cameras, Sam believes that the Sony A1 could replace several different cameras.

"Just one camera body that deals with a wide range of people."

Wedding photographers love it for it's 8K high-end video production and silent shooting capabilities, whilst it's all the rage with sport photographers for it's ability to capture every split second with amazing detail.

"We've had a lot of interest from a wide variety of photographers."
