Art in the Sky

Updated: Apr 17, 2021

Have you ever looked up at the sky and used your imagination to create shapes out of the clouds? Well, this photographer from the Netherlands uses his Instagram account, and some Photoshop magic, to share his imagination with the world.

Lân Nguyen, known by his followers as 19.XCV (which means 1995), captures the beauty he finds in the clouds every day.

“Every second the sky is different, so capturing one moment is unique because you’ll never see it like that again.”

Starting in 2017 with his iPhone 4 posting sunset photos, Lân's Instagram quickly became full of “unique images that no one has ever seen before.” He now uses a DSLR or mirrorless camera for better quality.

Lân plans for a photography session by making a mood board of ideas.

After editing his photos through either Photoshop or Pixelmator Pro, Lân posts his photos on Instagram, originally just to show his friends and then to 109k followers.

“The main message that I want to put out to my followers is that you have to be creative with everything in your life. If there’s something difficult in your life, try to be creative and think out of the box, good things will come!

With the sky giving Lân new images to capture every day, there’s no shortage of photos he can create, and he even hopes to be featured in a gallery or work with a big artist!

Lân doesn’t just create beautiful sky images but travel and portrait photographs, too, all which can be seen on his Instagram and his website. Lân also has a YouTube channel where he makes Photoshop tutorials.
